Elena Achieves Billy On The Street Immortality
And Lena Dunham can tell she's present at an important moment in history.
It's been over a year since we first encountered Elena in the Season 2 premiere of Billy On The Street, and all of our lives were changed forever.
Elena was clearly confounding for Eichner. On the one hand, her irritation and impatience with him made her a classic Billy On The Street guest. But on the other, she actually managed to get a surprising number of questions right and forced him to keep playing with her in spite of her many obvious personality deficits. ("Obama!" - Elena.)
When Elena didn't finish her round of Quizzed In The Face, it was clear that she and Eichner had unfinished business, which is why she returned for the latest episode to face off against Lena Dunham for a game of Cash Cow. And though Elena may have enjoyed some beginner's luck in her first appearance on the show, she is really no match for the young, spry, well-informed Dunham. But even if Elena doesn't win Cash Cow, she kind of wins the episode when this occurs.
ELENA MADE BILLY EICHNER BREAK. I have watched every episode, and I swear I have never seen that before. Lena Dunham can clearly tell that something very special has happened, and as much as I wish I believed that Elena is trying to be weird, for humour, we all know that a moment like this can't be manufactured. And it's beautiful.
