What The Stars Of Downton Abbey Thought Of Their Period Underwear

Our Players

Hello, I'm Dan Stevens and I play Matthew on Downton Abbey.
Cheerio, I'm Hugh Bonneville and I play Lord Grantham.

The Scene

Obviously, I didn't have a problem playing cricket for the series; I certainly did enough of that at school.
Nor were you concerned about the costuming, I should think -- I know I wasn't.
Right, yes, it's generally easier for us chaps to wear the Edwardian costumes than it is for the ladies.
But we got our comeuppance, eh?
How to describe the situation without being indelicate, d'you think?
Well, in a particular area of our wardrobe, we were...a little more liberated than is our normal custom.
You could say that there was a lot of motion in our undercarriages.
Objects had shifted during the flight.
The cocks were out of the coop.
Indeed, there was no coop!
Some dick was probably spotted.
Our packages were out for delivery.
I pray no one on set was allergic to nuts.
We were serving loose meat sandwiches.
In a sack lunch.
God, Dan, grow up.
