Darlene Love Saves New Girl's Christmas

It's what she was born to do.

Christmas can be hard on lots of people, but maybe none so much as the people who share a loft with Jessica Day, extreme Christmas enthusiast.

However, Jess's love for Christmas is matched only by her natural talent for compromise, which is how she comes up with the concept of Secret Santa. Unfortunately, in all the Christmas chaos (and, yes, her ongoing unrequited love of Nick, continually challenged by his long-distance relationship with Reagan), when the time comes to open gifts, there isn't one for Jess.

Or MAYBE, just in time for you to remember how much you used to love David Letterman's most treasured Late Night and Late Show holiday tradition, and the heartbreak of his having retired and taken his gifted caroler with him, Robby comes through in a very big way.

If you, like me, are not yet ready to say goodbye...here's Ms. Darlene Love in 2014, giving the world her very last "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" on The Late Show, introduced by David Letterman for the very last time.
