Nobody Doesn't Like Plastic Bins
As someone who prides herself on having every person who enters her home ask, "Is it always this tidy?" (it is), I responded very warmly to a plotline in the latest Nurse Jackie that finds Zoey (Merritt Wever) taking on the Herculean task of organizing Ike (Morris Chestnut) starting with his rat's nest of an office. What starts with just three humble wire baskets quickly metastasizes (see how I use the medical lingo?) into an elaborate project requiring Ike to give up his credit card, "no questions asked," so that Zoey can take it to The Container Store for a shopping spree on his behalf. This after a scene in which Jackie (Edie Falco) tracks down Grace (Ruby Jerins) not just to some pizza place but to "UNO," as is emphatically repeated several times during the scene and also lettered on the door -- an instance of product placement as obvious as it was unwelcome and unnecessary, unlike the Container Store mention.
Anyway: though Ike may be dubious about Zoey's plans, his tattooed patient knows better.
The joke is that even this cholo-looking guy (R. Marcus Taylor) would swear by a store that sells drawer dividers and collapsible skirt hangers among literally thousands of other items, but the reality is that it's pretty easy to believe that this taciturn patient's life would be changed by The Container Store if you have ever been inside one. God, I wish I were there right now. Go to hell, Uno.
