Chad Smith And Will Ferrell Prove They're Two Different People By Competing In A Drum-off

Seems fair!

Sighted people the world over have been noting for years that comic juggernaut Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith are basically twins separated at birth. But Ferrell recently created serious doubts about both men's identities when, in a Reddit AMA earlier this year, he claimed that there was no Chad Smith -- just a character Ferrell's been doing for a while. A completely real, very serious feud erupted between Smith and Ferrell, and Jimmy Fallon decided he would try to settle it on his show.

First, the (apparently actually two) men sat down with Fallon to recap the battle so far and prove there is no love lost between them.

Then it was time for the drum-off. Now, some might say that in a battle this lopsided, Ferrell might take advantage of the proximity of another world-class drummer just off-camera -- Questlove, let's say -- and mime along while the ringer played for him. And maybe there's some truth to that suspicion. But don't forget, Will Ferrell is also, famously, a pretty great percussionist in his own right.

I think it's clear to all that the right man emerged victorious. (And if you're interested, you can donate to both guys' charities: Smith was drumming for Little Kids Rock, while Ferrell represented Cancer For College.)
