Now Bravermans Are Ruining Things For People Who Aren't Even On Parenthood
Crosby crosses over to About A Boy, but which of his relatives could be next to screw things up for Will, and how?
The latest episode of About A Boy revolves around a poker night at Will's: perfect occasion for a tight bro-hang with all of Will's best dudes! As any of us could have guessed, things go awry: Crosby Braverman shows up with his baby in tow; and when Aida has her second horrible dump of the night and Crosby decides to take her home, one of Will's other bros decides to tag in Fiona. This leads to Fiona getting really drunk and consequently trash-talky, and Will ending the game to pout. Lesson learned, Will: never invite a Braverman into your home.
The intersection of the About A Boy and Parenthood universes was first established on the latter show: before Boy had premiered, we got a glimpse of Will leaving a poker game at The Luncheonette so that we know he and Crosby are friends. And, of course, both shows come from Executive Producer Jason Katims...who also produced Friday Night Lights, which has also crossed over with Parenthood via several webisodes in which Crucifictorious records at The Luncheonette, but at the same time a girl who looks exactly like Tyra Collette is a doctor at a San Francisco hospital? CONFUSING. But also beside my point here, which is to say that now that Crosby's broken the seal, any and all other Bravermans could potentially find their way into Will's life and wreck it in classic Braverman style, and I have some predictions as to how that might go. About A Boy writers: you can have any of these for free.
Kristina: Pressures Will into auctioning off a hint as to whom "Runaway Sleigh" is REALLY about for a fundraiser for her new school.
Joel: Takes on the job of permanently closing up the dumbwaiter between Will's house and Fiona's, and then blows it off when Sydney calls him panicking about getting a sliver from the floor of his sad bachelor apartment.
Drew: At fault in a fender bender with Will at a time when Drew's insurance has lapsed because he was too baked to remember to pay the bill.
Jasmine: In line behind Will at a coffee shop while Will flirts with the barista, and is typically unpleasant about it.
Zeek: Runs into Will at an event at The Luncheonette; insults Will's jacket and hair.
Max: In line behind Will at a coffee shop while Will flirts with the barista, and is so unpleasant about it that everyone in the coffee shop gets uncomfortable and leaves.
Camille: Guilts him into buying a painting he doesn't actually like.
Jabbar: Comes for a sleepover with Max; gets trapped in the half-closed-up dumbwaiter Joel never finished.
Sarah: Dates Will and has a great time and then gets too nervous about how happy she is and peremptorily dumps him, JUST LIKE ALWAYS.
