John Noble Is Joining The Cast Of Elementary...But Where Else Should He Go?
We think there are quite a few shows that could stand to increase their Nobility.
Since the start of Elementary, no entirely-offscreen character has had a bigger impact than Sherlock's absent father, but that's about to change: CBS has just announced that John Noble will play Holmes Sr. next season.
This is a great call on Elementary's part. As they obviously determined after watching Season 2 of Sleepy Hollow, John Noble is the pale, Australian TV equivalent of The Rock: Franchise Viagra! So even though his new gig on Elementary will make him a series regular and probably reduce his discretionary time, here are a few other places we'd love him to grace with his presence.
Downton Abbey As Mary's (Michelle Dockery) courtship by Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode) progresses and seems to be heading toward a proposal of marriage, his father Montague (Noble) raises objections after getting wind of her scandalous past.
Playing House Maggie (Lennon Parham) must overcome her own prejudices when the best applicant for the post of nanny to baby Charlotte is Carl (Noble), both a senior citizen and a man.
Orphan Black More pieces of the puzzle that is Mrs. S.'s backstory fall into place with the arrival of her former IRA operative brother, Seamus (Noble), who also has a mysterious connection to Project Leda.
Call The Midwife Sister Evangelina (Pam Ferris) is even more annoyed than usual when her home care patient of the week -- Jerry (Noble), a WWI Army medic who's broken his wrist -- can't stop denigrating her medical knowledge and technique.
Jane The Virgin When Rogelio (Jaime Camil) lands his first role in an Anglo-American TV drama, he hires world-famous dialect coach Sanford St. James (Noble) to try to help him lose his Mexican accent.
Under The Dome Among Season 3's never-before-seen Chester's Mill townsfolk is August Bennington (Noble), a retired Poli Sci professor who, confronted with the inescapable reality of living under Julia (Rachelle Lefevre) as Monarch, chooses to end his life instead.
Hannibal Hannibal (Mads Mikkelsen) thinks he's made an elegant new friend in his opera box-mate Sir Charles Harris (Noble), but when the gentleman dares to remove his shoes during La Traviata to relieve pressure on a corn, Hannibal has no choice but to punish him with an ironic murder/dish. (It involves corn.)
