Sam Beckett Leaps Into The Body Of A Horny Judge
A little girl, Tessa, is abducted from a playground while her distracted parents fiddle with their phones. Boooooo, distracted parents!
The kidnapper, Dia Nobile (Bijou Phillips), claims that she is Tessa's biological mother, which turns out to be true; though Tessa's parents, Braydon and Josie Leddy (Luke Kirby and Liza J. Bennett), believe that a surrogate conceived Tessa with Braydon's sperm and subsequently gave birth to her, the Leddys' lawyer falsified court records to conceal the truth about Tessa's parentage.
Dia's biological father is a prominent judge, who also happens to be the scion of another powerful judge. Judge Sr. had dirt on the Leddy's lawyer (who has died since playing his part in this whole mess), and used it to blackmail him into hiding his son's love child.
Scott Bakula plays Kent Webster, the horny judge, who first tries to claim that he just let Dia jerk him off after a photo shoot (she's a photographer) and that she must have sperm-jacked him and inseminated herself with it; of course, they are legit having an affair that continues even as he's under active police investigation.
"But he sent me pics of King Sebastian! ...What we call it."
It's kind of circuitous, but basically, Webster's daughter Hannah (Abby Quinn Jackman) kills Dia. Her mother Gillian (Jessica Hecht) "confesses" to the crime, but since she's dying and can barely lift a pitcher of water, she's not credible when she claims to have lifted a giant piece of art and bludgeoned Dia to death with it, so she admits to detectives that Hannah actually did it, but asks them to accept her false confession so that she dies in prison and gives Hannah a chance at a life. And they do!
Amaro (Danny Pino) gets Dia on his side by telling her he also has a daughter.
Gillian pleads guilty and gets sentenced to prison. As for Tessa: when Dia tries to recover her parental rights, the judge puts Tessa into foster care while the issue is sorted out. But then Dia gets killed, and since Webster doesn't want her, I guess Tessa goes back to the Leddys? They kind of lose that thread because, you know, murder.
