Phil Can't See Claire's Approving Look, But We Know It Happened

Ideally, my preference for this feature is to give you an instance of Claire (Julie Bowen) actually touching her husband Phil (Ty Burrell) in an affectionate manner, however chaste or brief. But since that did not occur in last night's episode, all I have to offer is the above: Claire responding to Phil's finally cracking and being the bad-cop parent, for once, by looking at him lovingly. She does so behind his back, of course, because if he saw it he might get the impression that she basically likes him, and stop working so hard to win her over. But still, she does let down her bitchy guard for long enough to kind of smile at him. Maybe he could feel the glow?
