Will Forrest Finally Make Sense Of His Life In Review's Season 2 Finale?

Your Magic 8-Ball's probably telling you 'all signs point to no.'

During this second season of Review -- just as in its first last year -- life reviewer Forrest MacNeil has learned, over and over, that there's no assignment so benign that it can't almost ruin his life. When even spending an afternoon in a rowboat, making someone's wish come true, or procrastinating can lead to disastrous outcomes for Forrest, closing the season on "What's it like to believe in a conspiracy theory?" might well cause you concern on Forrest's behalf. And, indeed, before you can say "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams," Forrest has gotten himself onto what seems to be a dangerous path.

How seriously can Forrest take any conspiracy-monger who includes in his doctrine a white-supremacist sasquatch who can travel between dimensions?

Seriously enough to start wondering whether each individual misfortune he has found himself in is actually part of one complex plan to destroy Forrest. And if you know Forrest, you also know he's not going to let this happen, but will pursue redress in the craziest and most potentially self-destructive way possible.

I loved Season 1 of Review so much that I wondered if Season 2 could match it, but the depths to which Forrest has sunk and been thrown have been astonishing and grimly hilarious: The Office can no longer be considered cringe comedy now that Review has been loosed upon the world. The finale is a perfect topper -- and, best of all, gives a big, meaty role to James Urbaniak's Grant -- and if you want to know how a life reviewer tries to get a handle on his life after being buried alive, being disowned by his father, and facing a murder charge...you really have to watch.

Review's Season 2 finale airs Thursday, October 1, at 10 PM ET on Comedy Central.
