As Classic Teen Movie Cruel Intentions Gets A TV Sequel, Teen TV Series Alumni Make Good All Over The Flash, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., And More
And Mr. Belding embarrasses himself again like the eternal teenager he's apparently determined to be.
Serious TV nerds will remember that an attempt has already been made to turn the classic '90s teen movie Cruel Intentions -- a.k.a. Dangerous Liaisons On The Upper East Side -- into a TV series: Manchester Prep, which was released as a straight-to-video sequel called Cruel Intentions 2 when the pilot didn't get picked up. But someone's decided there's still fertile ground for a TV show in this material, because NBC is developing a sequel TV series. The Cruel Intentions TV series will revolve around Bash, the son of Sebastian and Annette (the characters played by Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon in the movie), and though the news item says that Phillippe's Sebastian is dead at the start of the series, it doesn't say Annette is, and if she's willing to do Best Time Ever, I have a feeling she's not too fancy to pop up here on occasion. Bradley Cooper reprised his Limitless role on that show, after all!

If you're an actor young enough to play a high-schooler (or not; it didn't hurt Gabrielle Carteris much), go hard after this project: there are worse ways to start your career! Multiple Oscar nominee Amy Adams played Kathryn in Cruel Intentions 2, and last night's TV was positively littered with the former stars of teen shows making good! TO WIT:
The Flash: Ex-Glee star Grant Gustin delighted John Ramos by interacting with Iris in multiple scenes and keeping any kind of romance out of it! Also joining him again this week as Captain Cold was Wentworth Miller, a guest star on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Popular, Joan Of Arcadia, and Time Of Your Life.
Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Friday Night Lights's Adrianne Palicki didn't have much to do this week other than bore Monty Ashley with some kind of hair business, but hey, better this than that Wonder Woman nonsense she was embroiled in a few years back.
iZombie: Hellcats alumna Aly Michalka may not be a favourite of many fans, but Eve Batey thinks she has potential and is happy to see her return.
And speaking of returning: while Hildy's Hay Wall vanquished Zack Morris's Cell Phone yesterday in their King Of Disparate TV Things Mountain face-off, Saved By The Bell remains newsworthy. Or...news-crashy, I guess.
Can we get you some coffee, Mr. Belding? Please?
