Al 1, Julia 0

In the midst of all the hot action in last night's penultimate Justified of the season -- deaths, arrests, plans hatched, money changing hands, rocking chairs delivered -- you may have missed the best line Al (Nick Searcy) has delivered maybe all season. As Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) and Al discuss Drew (Jim Beaver), and his demand that they recover Ellen May (Abby Miller) before he will agree to go to a supermax prison, Al wonders what Ellen May's big appeal could possibly be: "Does he think she's Julia Roberts and he's ol' whatsisname with the white limo?" "She ain't no Julia Roberts," Raylan snorts. To which Al replies the following:

"You know, I never cared for her much anyway. Looked too much like Eric."

OHHHHHHH DUDE! ICE BURN! I am choosing to take this as a personal shout-out, because I have been an anti-Julia Roberts activist for years. (All the animosity you may harbour toward Gwyneth Paltrow? Maybe direct some of that at Roberts and her crazy overlaugh.)

Ever the gentleman -- or, perhaps, thinking ahead to the kinds of negative comments about her looks that his soon-to-be-born daughter may be subjected to when she's a fortysomething movie star -- Raylan offers, "Nice smile." But, uh...is it?
