Fists Of Fury/Shame
Johnny Dubcek (Peter Scanavino) stabs elite gymnastics coach Alexei Belyakov (Jack Dimich) in his most sensitive parts, leading officers to assume that Belyakov is molesting his students.
Further digging leads detectives to the proprietor of a camp Johnny attended as a kid -- though only for one season since, as his mom tells it, after he came back, he was never the same.
In that the camp director is a sociopath skilled at identifying children with inattentive single mothers and grooming them for abuse, he is obviously a stand-in for Jerry Sandusky.
Serry Jandusky isn't married, and though he is a coach during the non-summer months, he doesn't work in a nationally-renowned university football program. Other than that, it's pretty much the same.
Ed Asner, who plays camp director Martin Schultz.
"How old were you when it started?" "Well, the first time I can remember: five. Maybe six. See, my uncle -- my uncle put his mouth on me, and he said, 'Now you're a big boy. This is what big boys do with men'"; "'Further notes on the Faggot Squad.'"
When it turns out that "a dozen" of Martin's former campers are in jail on assault charges, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) tracks down Reggie Rhodes (Mike Tyson), who's on Death Row for murdering a guy named Danforth who hired him for "odd jobs." Except it turns out that the "odd jobs" were sexual, and that one night when Reggie went to his house, three other guys were there and "work[ed] him over all night," taking Polaroids throughout. Reggie returned to Danforth's house the next night to try to recover the photos, and killed Danforth. Reggie's court-appointed attorney didn't introduce Danforth's former solicitation charges. The prosecutor didn't show the jury crime scene photos that showed the outline, in a blood puddle, where at least one of the photos that incriminated Danforth clearly was. Finally, it comes out that the prosecutor did have some of the Polaroids, but withheld them from everyone but her supervisor...who happens to be married to the head of the parole board.
Benson, since Martin immediately sizes her up as a fatherless child.
The judge grants a stay of execution for Reggie; given all the issues with the original trial, he may be granted a new one.
Benson is still dating someone, but they decided not to make a big to-do about Valentine's Day because they aren't there yet.
