Bryan Fuller Wants To Reboot The British Version Of The Avengers With Eddie Izzard As John Steed

Let's talk dynamic duos!

Since NBC's cancellation of Hannibal, fans have been waiting with grated bated breath to find out what series creator Bryan Fuller would do next, and now we may have the answer: in TVLine's roundup of showrunners' reboot dreams, Fuller said he'd like to reboot The Avengers (the British series from the '60s, not the Marvel one), with his Hannibal guest star/Mockingbird Lane lead Eddie Izzard in the role originated by Patrick MacNee. It's fitting that The Avengers should be making news today; last night's TV was chockablock with dynamic duos.

  • The Voice is officially done with pairs performances for another season; Stephanie Cangro reports on the end of the knockouts round.
  • The often-contentious team of Danvers and Danvers clashes but ultimately learns the importance of co-operation in Jeff Alexander's post on the latest Supergirl.
  • Nick Carter and his partner Sharna impress both the judges AND our Kim Reed with a world-class performance in the latest Dancing With The Stars.
  • Jane and Lina triumph over baby Mateo's intrusion into their friendship in the latest Jane The Virgin.
  • And in the not-so-dynamic duo department, this year's Project Greenlight feature The Leisure Class premiered on HBO -- which, Sarah D. Bunting informs us, fails to cement the partnerships of either Ed Weeks and Tom Bell, or Jason Mann and Film.
