For National Dog Day, Let's Talk About TV's Primo Pooches

And also Wally.

It's National Dog Day, apparently! "So close to National Mutt Day?" I know (and what is that bullshit about Mutt Day being celebrated on two different dates? Mutts are not that greedy.) To mark the occasion, Slate has assembled a list of the best dogs in pop culture. Not all of Slate's picks are from TV, but one is, and he's a pup who's also been celebrated right here by our Roger Cormier: BoJack Horseman's Mr. Peanutbutter!

We also recently discussed a dog that chewed up a whole B-plot of Beverly Hills, 90210's "Spring Training": Wally. We might sound harsh on the podcast, but when you see his dumb face in the Visual Aids, you might take our point.

Today's new Difficult People also marked the occasion by finding important roles for Julie's dogs Sen. Jelly Beans and Greg.

Let's also give a shout-out to the undisputed MVP of Under The Dome (all seasons, though he only showed up in the S3 premiere): Indy! Even though sometimes it seems like the canine actor knows he's on a real turd of a show.
